Healing From The Heart
Selfless service beautifully results in getting out of one’s own way, through helping others.
Time and again I have personally experienced the power of selfless service… meaning giving to others with no expectation in return. It’s common that people are usually caught in the stories that the monkey mind likes to convince us are real… “I’m not good enough,” “I should be different than who I am,” “I’m not lovable,” etc.
It’s all bogus!
You are already “enough” just the way you are and one beautiful way to move that message from your head to your heart is to do service for another. There are so many wonderful ways that you can contribute…to children, animals, other people, the environment. When you do so, you get to take the focus off of you and return to a state of gratitude as you become acutely aware to everything you’ve been graced with.
We feel deeply passionate about helping these charities…
Mata Amritanandamayi is known throughout the world as Amma, or Mother, for her selfless love and compassion toward all beings. Her entire life has been dedicated to alleviating the pain of the poor, and those suffering physically and emotionally. Throughout her life, Amma has embraced and comforted more than 32 million people. Amma inspires, uplifts, and transforms through her physical embrace, her spiritual wisdom and through her global charities, known as Embracing the World.® When asked where she gets the energy to help so many people, she answers: “Where there is true love, anything is effortless.” While Amma is widely regarded as one of India’s foremost spiritual leaders, Amma says that her religion is love. She has never asked anyone to change their religion, but only to contemplate the essential principles of their own faith and to try to live accordingly. Click here for more information.
The Magic Bullet Fund opened in November 20, 2005, to provide financial assistance for people who have a dog with cancer, but cannot afford treatment fees. There is a great deal of work to be done, and without the contributions of the amazing people of the staff – the MBF Volunteers – the fund would not be able to remain open.
